When our creative team dreams up the concept around our campaigns, there is so much more than just planning a photoshoot. We really consider the team and who we work with to create the visual story. Whether locally or globally, the teams we put together are our community. They are true brand devotees and most importantly, if not already, quickly become our friends.
Our Satellite pair Hannah and Iasonas are on a continual adventure. Discovering new locations and architecture, sharing wondrous moments together, and consequently these adventures have inspired a true on-set, off-set friendship. To get a little more insight, we seeded the conversation topic of togetherness and asked them to have a chat about what this word means to them and their friendship.
Hannah on Iasonas
The very first Satellite shoot we did together was the first time Iasonas and I had met. We have stayed friends since then and often catch up as we live close to each other in Athens. I love that I have a developed a new close friendship, and it’s great that working on set for State of Escape from the very beginning has cultivated this sense of togetherness.
I really enjoy being on set with Iasonas, and as we have worked together on these shoots before it makes it easy as we can just jump right back into it where we left off. It’s not super common to work with the same people repeatedly but when you do, the feeling and environment on set is great! You know everyone there, so you have a good time which brings a spirited energy to the day as well as the images.
Hannah asks Iasonas what Escaping back to self means to him.
Iasonas – “it means to me going to places in my mind where I can escape back to myself, like my hometown. Sometimes when I am going through something that I can’t control I just close my eyes and think of home. These memories make me calm and happy.”
Iasonas on Hannah
I love shooting with Hannah and Peter (the photographer), I remember on the first State of Escape shoot we connected so well, like “friends at first sight”. One thing I think is really special is that fact that we are shooting an Australian brand with an Australian (born) team while creating a story in Athens. They are like my newfound Australian family that now live here in Greece. That truly makes me feel connected.
It’s a beautiful feeling when the time comes for another project for State of Escape, and I believe we all feel the same, we know each other well and it’s always easy and it goes smoothly. As Hannah said it feels like we can pick up from where we left off. The Satellite story just continues to evolve and it’s great to be a part of it. I look forward to what part four may look like!
Iasonas asks Hannah what Escaping back to self means to her.
Hannah - "Escaping back to self means to me discovering or even rediscovering something that I enjoy. For me recently this has been as simple as getting in touch with little things I used to really like such as gardening. I’ve started building a herb garden for my balcony and just the practise of connecting back to nature in some way allows me to escape back to myself."
