State of Escape was founded on a business model to create timeless, considered pieces that transcend trends and seasons. Made locally in Australia with integrity. Every creation designed to afford longevity and versatility. A sustainable foundation from which we constantly evaluate and improve our commitment to people and planet.
Conscious
Craftmanship
Every State of Escape piece is handcrafted locally in Australia by talented artisans; their meticulous attention to detail ensuring the longevity of our creations. Made to last, eliminating seasonal wastage and over-consumption. From day one we have made our product in Australia to order and limited our inventory to a small collection of multipurpose, evergreen pieces. Hand cutting each pattern to maximise yield and minimise waste.
We celebrate and respect the craftsmanship, skill and care required to create our bags. Every collection is purposefully designed to stand the test of time and be worn again.
"Made to last, eliminating seasonal wastage and over-consumption."
Materials
State of Escape takes responsibility for consciously seeking ways to better our materials and processes to minimise environmental impact.
We are transitioning to biodegradable, fully compostable or recyclable packaging made from organic matter and use recycled and recyclable componentry across all of our e-commerce packaging.
People
As a female owned and operated company, State of Escape is committed to supporting diversity and inclusivity. We operate to strict codes of occupational health and safety and strive to create a workplace that is welcoming, inclusive, respectful and fair.
This commitment to an equitable workplace extends to our chosen partners. We take responsibility for those we choose to work and are committed to building respectful, mutually beneficial, long-term partnerships based on the highest standards of ethics and professionalism.
We honour First Nations culture and the traditional custodians of the land and pay our respects to elders, past and present.
Our future commitments
It is our ultimate vision that no 100% virgin materials will be used in our production process, and that no single use plastic be used across our internal departments.
As life-long learners we are continuing on our own journey to educate ourselves through our commitment to environmental, cultural and workplace best-practice. With many exciting developments underway we look forward to sharing further sustainability milestones with our community in the near future.
