Escape to: Tokyo

A fascinating metropolis where centuries-old temples and contemplative gardens sit amongst soaring towers and neon-lit facades, explore the senses of Tokyo through the lens of one of its most stylish locals.

Local flavours

Go-to restaurant for catching up with friends: Ron Herman Cafe

Whether you are with large group, just two- or even with children or babies, The store staff are all kind and The food is delicious and healthy.

Favourite spot for weekend coffee: Souen Japanese Blend Tea Bar

I love Japanese TEA. They have wide selection of teas that you can only drink here, from various Japanese teas from all over Japan to black tea. The sweets are also delicious. This is my great weekend treat.

Shopping for fresh produce or local specialties: Yellow Page SETAGAYA

The Shop is old-fashioned green grocer, selling organic ingredients -in fair trade, Direct from producers - you can see it. It is one of my favourites.

A view to remember

I still remember the beautiful and fantastical cherry blossoms at night along the Meguro River. The timing of blossoming and shape of branches vary from years to years , so the same scenery is never repeated, and that, too, is fleeting and very beautiful.

The city's soundtrack

The sound of Japanese Festivals. The sounds of music and Mikoshi ( Portable Shrines). The voices of children having fun at street food stalls.

Memorable sounds that bring back memories of when you were little child. I think these are sounds that make you feel like you are in Japan.
